Villa Serena sits at the end of a white gravel road flanked by cypresses, where the hills of the Val d’Orcia fold into one another like linen. The farmhouse was restored with original terracotta floors, chestnut beams and thick stone walls that keep the rooms cool through the Tuscan summer.
Mornings begin with coffee on the pergola; afternoons drift between the infinity pool and the shaded reading corners of the garden. The kitchen — a proper Tuscan kitchen with a long marble counter — opens onto an outdoor dining table under the vines, where dinners tend to last until the fireflies arrive.
Pienza, Montepulciano and Bagno Vignoni are each within twenty minutes by car. Our local host arranges wine tastings, a private chef, and horseback rides through the estate’s own olive grove.
